What is an RIA?
You may not realise it, but it is quite possible you have been using RIAs for years without knowing it. Hotmail, Gmail & more recently Google Apps, are all classic examples of RIAs. An RIA is an application, built for whatever purpose you desire, that is securely accessible via the Web 24/7 from any location you want. With an RIA you no longer have to travel to a certain place at a certain time or use a specific computer to get the precise information you need. Neither do you have to keep spending money on expensive phone calls or even spend time sending emails to stay up to date.
RIAs do not require any complex software installation or expensive hardware. If you are able to read this text then your computer has all it needs to access your RIA. Any device that can connect to the Internet and has a Web browser such as Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, etc is ready to go. It is also entirely possible to access your RIA using your mobile phone as long as it meets the standard requirements of: Internet Connection + Web Browser
